If you like Gene Wolfe's various New Sun series definitely give this a try, a classic.

If you love Gene Wolfe's various New Sun series and also like Paul McAuley's brand of space opera you should definitely give this a try. Paul McAuley does his best Gene Wolfe imitation and ends up writing one of the best science fiction series of the last 20 years, one of my favorite series of all-time.

Boring, Boring, Boring

Very slow, dense, boring detail of endless medieval cultures with a thin and unrealistic gloss of high technology. Warning, spoiler: The god-like tech culture climbed into a black hole and pulled it shut after themselves. End of story.
