Masterful

This book is perfectly titled: the monologues are FABULOUS! I especially enjoyed those in rhyming couplets -- so difficult to achieve and so cleverly done here. A great collection for actors, teachers, students. In addition, Jan Silverman's Guide to Performing a Classical Monologue is masterful. There's also a companion volume of 50 Fabulous Classical Monologues for Men.

As a professional Broadway stage manager for over 30 years, I have seen lots of auditions. I welcome this book as a fresh, overdue approach to the monologue. I've read it and it's terrific: literate and very actable.
